DataFX 2.0, developer preview release

Today, the DataFX team is very pleased to announce a Developer Preview build of the Open-Source framework DataFX. Using DataFX, JavaFX developers can easily integrate real-world data into JavaFX applications.

Over the last couple of months, Jonathan, Hendrik and myself have been working very hard on DataFX. We think we made lots of progress.
A number of the CellFactories that were created as part of DataFX 1.0 have found their way into the JavaFX 2.2 and JavaFX 8 platform.
The DataSources have been extended and simplified.
We added support for Server-Sent Events and WebSockets.
And we started to create an API that allows developers to manage the lifecycle and context in typical JavaFX Enterprise Applications.

Being developers, we do understand that most developers want clear JavaDoc documentation, and examples. We tried to offer this and we hope you like it. The most important documentation for DataFX is in the JavaDoc that is hosted on . We are increasing our support efforts as well. We created a Google Group at where you can ask questions, give feedback, and discuss things with fellow users and DataFX developers. We try to be as responsive as possible. Furthermore, if your company considers DataFX as part of an important software project, we offer commercial support as well, via LodgON. We want to assure you that we are serious about DataFX, and we are able to help you to use it in real-world projects.

Today we are announcing a Developer Preview release. This means we are very open to feedback from developeres. Is there something you want to change? Do you miss important functionality? Do we need more or better documentation? Do you want to join the development team?
